• Bishop Lynch accepts academic transfer credits from schools that are accredited by agencies who are members of the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC). Transcripts must contain number or letter grades and credit documentation.
• Pass/Fail marks are accepted for Physical Education courses only.
• Credits designated as “Local Credits” will not transfer to BLHS.
• International School Transfer students will need to submit contact hours for their courses so that credits may be converted.
• Letter grades will be converted to number grades per the BLHS scale.
• Weighted courses must be properly documented on the previous school’s transcript in order to earn weight at BLHS.  All weighted courses will be converted using the BLHS weighting factors.
• Middle School credits issued on a High School Transcript by an accredited High School will only be accepted from the academic year prior to the student’s Freshman Year (8th grade only.)  Other credits, though they will not satisfy graduation requirements, will be documented on the transcript.  Grades earned prior to High School are not figured in the cumulative average.
• A maximum of two credits earned prior to High School will satisfy graduation requirements.  Only courses offered to freshmen (9th grade) students at BLHS will be accepted on a limited basis.  Traditionally accepted courses include Communication Applications, Health, First Year Foreign Language, Algebra I, Computer and PE.  Though other credits earned may not satisfy graduation requirements and may need to be repeated, they will still appear on the transcript as issued from the previous school.

n order to make accurate placement recommendations for transfer students, we will evaluate previous course placement and grades, standardized test scores, diagnostic information, and teacher recommendations. We also ask for subject specific placement evaluations in English, Math, Language, and for all Essential courses.

ll transfer student grades from previous schools are averaged and a Transfer GPA is determined. To qualify for GPA weighting on any levels, courses must be marked on the transcript from the institution awarding credit.

Letter grades from the previous school (if issued) will be converted based on the Bishop Lynch scale: A+ (100); A (95); A- (90); B+ (89); B (85); B- (80); C+ (79); C (75); C- (70); F (69).

Bishop Lynch does not report class rank for our students. However, an internal class rank is kept for college admission purposes. Senior transfer students will not be included in the internal ranking figured in accordance with State Legislature. International transfer students who have repeated a grade level at a previous school will also not receive a class rank at Bishop Lynch.

• Be fluent in English and approved by the Principal and admissions committee.
   
• Take the ISEE Test- www.iseetest.org Visit:  www.prometric.com for a Prometric Testing Center location near you to take the test. Locations are world wide. If an ISEE test site is not nearby, the TOEFL test is acceptable. No International Students will be considered for admissions without one of these tests.
   
• Secure a guardian and have him/her visit with the Director of Enrollment Management to discuss guardianship responsibilities as listed

1. Student must live with a legal guardian, family member or host family. 
2. Guardian is responsible for arranging transportation to and from school, working with the Bishop Lynch administration if any problems arise, and must be responsible for the student in case of an emergency. 
3. If the student lives with a non-family member, the student is required to use an approved/licensed third party company to assist with insurance and liability.

• The student's foreign transcript must be evaluated by Foreign Credentials and submitted to Bishop Lynch High School as part of the application process.  The telephone number for Foreign Credentials is: (512)459-8428.  

After all regular admissions and international student requirements are met, the student will be issued an I-20 and a letter of acceptance.  At that time, he/she must go to the immigration office with the I-20 and admissions letter to receive permissions to attend school in the United States of America.

• Accept Tuition Contract - Once you have received your acceptance letter, visit the International Tuition Contract Acceptance Form online to complete your enrollment.
   
• Bishop Lynch must receive a copy of the student's VISA prior to the first day of enrollment.

All international students will pay the international student fee in addition to tuition and other tuition related fees.
